I have two new slideshow to share with you. My company, David Duncan Photography has recently produced two sound slides for The News & Advance in the past week. When I left the paper ten months ago, my goal when to start my own photography business and to develop a multimedia division that was apart of DDP. I am developing new stories and long-term projects and producing content in the Central Virginia Area.

Today I covered the protest that took place on the grounds of Randolph-Macon Woman's College here in Lynchburg, VA. The school is 115 years old and has always been a woman's college. The Board of Trustees meet in a closed session meeting and voted to allow men to attend the all woman's college in 2007. I have posted images on my photoshelter page that I use to display my editorial news images. I will be posing a multimedia slide show of the event that has allot more images and interviews on this blog in about a week.

I have lived here for 8 years, shot countless assignments on campus when I was still with the paper. It is sad to see the school lose its identity.

I shot these images and recorded the audio for an up coming project on the Healing Field that was in Lynchburg during July 1st through the 4th. These are some quick photos I put together with the audio I recorded on my Sony mini disk recorder during the fly over. To get this view point, I was on my back as the plane came over the field shooting at a high rate of speed with my Canon Mark II N.

At the start of this year when I left the The News & Advance to run my photography business fulltime in Lynchburg, VA I felt that I could give back to my community. I wanted to Share my 10 years of experience as a working photojournalist who shot countless short and long term project for print media and who produced multimedia content in the field for the web. My goal is to work with a non-profit each year for pro bono where I can be creative with my ideas and offer my photography, audio and video multimedia skills for their annual campaign.

This year I worked on a pro bono project for the YWCA of Central Virginia. I had an idea for a multimedia project that they could use online. I wanted to create a vision before I pitched it, so I decided to shoot test shots and create a layout on paper. I felt this project would give the Purse & Passion a local voice that would help raise more money during their annual luncheon and for the years to come.

In April, I photographed 4 women and recorded their stories. I produced a multimedia slideshow that is about 5 min. long. These are their Purse & Passion stories.
