Rev. Jerry Falwell

I wanted to share with you all a short multimedia project I produced on Thomas Road Baptist Church where the Rev. Jerry Falwell is the pastor. The church was celebrating their 50th anniversary. The event took place Sunday morning July 2nd, 2006 in their new church located on Candlers Mountain Road in Lynchburg, VA.



I arrived there at 9:15am and the parking was all ready full. I had been in the old church many of time during my time with the paper, but this church was huge. I checked in and was lead to the green room; there I meet with Rev. Falwell. I have photographed him many of times for the paper, for the Associated Press and for my personal documentary projects. This time I was there for myself, to document history.

He had finished talking to the media; I entered a small room, sat down next to him where I asked Dr. Falwell some questions about who he is, the new church and how it all started. He loves to share his story and the story of TRBC.
