We just sent out the coffee table proof book to Austin and Jamie who had their rehearsal and wedding at Mayhurst Inn, in Orange, VA.
The proof book is an image wrap for the front cover. The image was fitting since this was a 'pig picking' rehearsal dinner. The food was great!

I shot this a month ago, it is about traveling to Naples, FL from Lynchburg, VA to surprise my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary. My brother and sister and I came into to town for one night to take them out to dinner. I love to fly and watch airplanes come in for a landing so here it is. The video and time lapse was all shot with my Canon G9, a great little pro point and shoot camera.

This is a quick video about driving from GA to VA. It is a time lapse shot with my Canon G9 and edited with Apple Imovie. Music is from NIN their new stuff where they let people use it for personal project.

I wanted to share these images. They were taken yesterday morning outside of my studio door. My studio is located in the basement level of the YWCA where one of the two bridal shops, Church Street Bridal Shop and Church Street Bridal Shop Too are located.

As most of you know designers and bridal shops from across the country donate new dresses to the YWCA to sell in their bridal shops. The money raised goes to their different programs, like the permanent and transitional housing, domestic violence prevention center, racial justice program, ygyrl leaders and children's supervised visitation center. A large supporter of the bridal shop is Kleinfelds

This was one of the dresses that came from Kleinfelds recently. Joanne was kind enough to model yesterday.

Last week we were hired to photograph the Nelson family off of Link Road in Lynchburg, VA that came together to celebrate their parents 60th Wedding Anniversary on June 22, 2008. This was a large family portrait and several mini portraits of the adult children and their families, but we covered it similar to a small wedding. We also were able to record on audio the parents on how they meet, what life was like for them over the years and so on. Here are some of the images.

This past weekend we covered the rehearsal and wedding of Jamie and Austin who were married at The Mayhurst Inn Bed & Breakfest in Orange County, VA. The Mayhurst Inn is about 30 minutes away from Charlottesville, VA. Thank you to everyone who treated us like family, we had a great time covering the event.

This past weekend, Michelle and I shot a wedding over looking the Blue Ridge Mountains in Amherst County, VA. This was the wedding of Sarah & David, a cool young couple. The wedding was held outside over looking the valley and a several tents were set up for the reception. Family and friends gathered under the stars for the family affair. We will be posting a multimedia show soon.

Just a quick note to all the people that have viewed the 'Lives Were Changed' video, I just designed a book from the video I created. The book will soon be offered for sale on my blurb.com member page.

The book size is 7x7 and comes as soft back, hard bound with a wrap and hard bound with an image wrap. Total pages are 28. Total images inside are 65. I have also added the link to the video on the back of the book.

This book is geared three ways, to showcase DDP, an example of volunteering for Brentwood Church and for the YWCA to show how the community help out the residents. I made sure each party got a plug with their address, web and phone number.
We, Michelle and I, will be providing a book to the church and the YWCA as a Thank You.

Wednesday, May 14th, 50 Brentwood (Brentwood Church) women spent an evening serving the women at the YWCA of Central Virginia. Their mission was to pamper the women that night by remodeling the lounge, deep cleaning the kitchen. Women were given haircuts, massages and manicures... as well as numerous toiletry products. The event lasted about 3 hours. I was asked to photograph for the church and while I was there get some shots for the YWCA.

Well I can not go half speed, so I went all out. I shoot with several camera, some of the video was shot with my Canon G9 and the tail end video was shot with an 3CCD HD video camera. Since my deadline was short, Brentwood showed the video in church this Sunday, I produced this on Apple Imovie 08.

The music was called, The Blood, by Nic Carver who sings at church.

Linda Faye Hernandez survived many years of abuse from her husband. In 2003 she moved to Lynchburg, VA and found herself on the doorsteps of the YWCA of Central VA.

Linda Faye shares her story in this short video that was produced for the YWCA’s Purse&Passion Luncheon, a fundraiser that took place May 1st, 2008 in Lynchburg, VA. Part of the funds raised will be used towards their elevator fund. The building that houses the YWCA is over 95 years old. The third and fourth floors house women of all ages; there are over 64 steps they take to get to the 4th floor. Most of the residents struggle to carry their grocery and daily necessities up them. Some of the women suffer from medical problems that make it hard to climb the steps. To date the YW has raised around $100,000 towards the effort. The YW is 5 stories high, so the cost is considerably great.

The video took five days to produce. I started shooting the video here in the studio, I visited Linda on location in her apartment and then went back in the studio to produce the final product. The project was edited with apple's Imovie.

Overcoming Abuse from David Duncan on Vimeo.

Michelle and I were in Savannah GA April 5th to cover the wedding of Stephen & Dan'elle that took place at the Mackey House. A good friend, college buddy and fellow photographer, Russ Bryant hooked us up with this cool couple that rocked out to a southern rock band called High Velocity during the reception.

The event was a mix of southern gentlemen in blazers and seasoned men wearing skin ink, black leather vest that sported the Outlaws Inc. biker logo. Family and friends gathered in the Mackey house and under the pavilion to celebrate the wedding as the weather unleashed rain throughout the day.

This is just a snap shot of the wedding, more will come soon.

This past weekend Michelle and I were in Wrightsville Beach, NC photographing a small, but very cool wedding with Daniel & Jen. The setting was at a private house on Wrightsville Beach that over looked the inlet. This was just family and friends. I was able to shoot more relaxed since the groom was my brother-in-law, I have known Daniel for more than 12 years now.

I was going to pass on photographing the wedding so I could do my own thing and shoot with some old plastic cameras, but they really wanted us to cover it, so we did. We shot it in our style of photojournalism. I was also able to shoot with a old movie film camera that my parents used when we lived in Egypt overseas back in the 70's that shot super 8mm film (Old School), Michelle and I took turns looking through the view finder of this old camera.

Here are some images, more to come after we get back from a wedding we are shooting this weekend in Savannah, GA.

This is a cool video of Washington Post Photographer, Toni L. Sandys, who was in FL covering The Washington Nationals Spring Training Camp.

This reminded me of when I covered Spring Training from the Minor League to the Majors a couple of years ago when I still worked at The News & Advance. Andy Bitter and I flew into Tampa, pick up a rental SUV and drove across FL for a week visiting Spring Training Camps and sleeping in bad motels. At the time I was shooting sports images, portraits, recording audio interviews, shooting video and editing multimedia stories together on the road and transmitting them back to the paper.
